Thanksgiving Week News at AGP

Hello Amazing Grace Parents,

As I write this the classrooms are having Thanksgiving feasts with corn bread mashed potatoes and the works.  And the best part is that they are all thanking God for the good gifts he has given to each of us!

Here are a few updates:

  • Reminder, there will be no school Wednesday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Kisoboka donations:  We have a container in the entry way for Christmas donations to the children in Uganda — a dollar will give one child important medicine, and $500, will provide a floor for the nursery classroom there, (it currently has a dirt floor).  One idea is to have your child do a small chore, like setting the table or sorting the clean socks, to earn a quarters for the children in Uganda.  Thanks in advance for helping us to encourage a spirit of generosity among our children!
  • Judy Kelley will be volunteering in our school on Thursdays — Judy is a member of our Board of Directors and a recently retired preschool director.  Be sure to say “Hi” to Judy when you see her!
  • Do you have computer speakers you are not using?  The Grasshopper classroom needs a pair as theirs recently stopped working.  Thanks!

Library Corner:  There is a new book out called How to talk so Little Kids will listen, which we have recently purchased for our library.  This book is full of helpful ideas for parents and teachers to communicate with their preschoolers!  Take a look at our parent library which is on the top shelf of the red bookcase in the hallway — you can check books out for a couple of weeks at a time. (Gentle reminder, if you have checked out a book. please be sure to return it!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We are thankful that God has brought you to our community!
