As I was watching children circling the bike room today on tricycles, balance bikes and scooters, one child fell when her balance bike slipped out from under her. Almost immediately the other vehicles formed a loose circle around her with several children asking “Are you all right?” This was not a one-time occurrence but happened for several other children after vehicle mishaps.
And it occurred to me that our Grasshopper class has really become a community where we care for and look out for each other. Not that we don’t have our skirmishes and ups and downs, but there is a sense of connection and love which binds us together.
“Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything.” I Peter 4:8
