Halloween Newsletter October 28

Hello Amazing Grace Parents:

Costumes:  Friday is Halloween and we invite your children to wear their costumes to school if they want to.  If possible, please put the costume over their regular clothes — we’ll wear them during our first hour of school and then change back to our regular clothes for the rest of the morning.  Please, no masks or weapons — we want to minimize the scariness of Halloween while emphasizing that God loves us and is with us when we are frightened!   “When I am afraid I will trust in you.”  (Psalm 56:3) is our verse this week.

Family Farm Day:  Many thanks for all of you who came and who helped make the day a fun and wonderful success!  We counted nearly 100 people including visitors and alumni families.  What a wonderful day to connect with old and new friends and to see some farm animals up close and personal!

Fall Conferences:   Mark your calendars, if you have not already:

  • Grasshoppers, Tuesday, November 18, no school Grasshoppers
  • Butterflies, Wednesday, November 19, no school Butterflies (Grasshoppers do have school this day)

Conferences are 20-25 minutes long, and we will let you know when you can sign up for a time.  Note: there will be no childcare available but if you arrange with another parent to share childcare please let your classroom teachers know to facilitate scheduling– you are welcome to use our playground or bike room.

Smoothie Recipe  and a note from Miss Magda:
If you struggle with getting your child to eat vegetables, here is a delicious smoothie recipe that we enjoyed in the Butterfly classroom.
  • 5 bananas
  • 1/2 cup of spinach
  • 1 cup of strawberry yogurt
  • 1/2 pound of strawberries
  • 8 ice cubes and 1/2 cup of water

Mix all the ingredients in the blender except the water for 3 minutes, and then add the water (makes 1 full blender)

Thanks everyone — Ellie
